AN OBSERVATORY GARDEN IN CENTRAL PARK, NYC ENGAGEMENT | KATHERINE + ERIK
What was to be a farewell party for a mutual friend, or so Katherine thought, turned into something much more–just as Erik had planned all along. She didn’t know that the dinner double date Erik had coordinated was actually all for her and their friends were there as a distraction. All were going as planned, so well that when Erik started a toast, Katherine thought it was all for their friend. When she realized it was actually Erik’s proposal, she shook uncontrollably and was in utter shock when he asked her, will you marry me?
Katherine had contacted me about their plans of going to New York City for a weekend and asked if I would be willing to make a trip down to the city to do their engagement session. I happily obliged, of course! New York City is a big part of their love story. They were at the observation deck of the Empire State building when they first said I love you to each other. We had initially planned on meeting by the Bethesda fountain to do their session, but when Katherine’s hairstylist suggested checking out the Observatory Garden in Central Park, I got a text from her about the change of plans. I’m so glad we ended up there! I had never been in that part of the park and I was so happy to find how beautiful and somewhat secluded it was compared to other areas of the park.
Katherine and Erik met at UCONN and they have made big moves together, namely to a different state after college. I am so happy that they have decided to come back to Connecticut to tie the knot and have me capture another big move. Their wedding is my last of 2016 and it will be during my favorite time of year, Christmastime. I am sooooo pumped for their wedding! Congratulations you two!
