A WEST HAVEN ENGAGEMENT | MEGHAN + MATT
Is there anything sweeter than meeting someone you are destined to be with back when you were eleven? In Meghan and Matt’s case, that was exactly the case. They met at swim practice at the West Haven High School pool. They built a friendship expanding through all of their middle and high school years, and in between, dated, sort-of. Meghan was the cause of a couple of breakups because as Matt puts it, and I quote: she didn’t want to ruin the friendship. But when Freshman man year of college rolled around, they gave the romantic relationship a try and well it brought us all the way to now–engaged and parents to their little boy, Owen. He was daddy’s little helper the night that Matt got down on one knee to ask her the ultimate question. Meghan was completely and utterly shocked at the gorgeous ring inside the little box Owen handed to her.
Eleven seems to be their number–as they are in their eleventh year of their relationship when we went back to the West Haven High School pool to shoot their engagement session! I loved that they were able to go back to the very location where they first met! It was truly a special engagement session and it totally reminds me why I do this thing that I do. This is my second trip back to good ole’ WHHS. Besides it being the location where I met my husband, the two times I’ve been back were to photograph wonderful people who met their soul mates there as well.
Meghan and Matt, we cannot wait for your wedding next year!!! We can feel it’s gonna be awesome!
